The Buan Wind Components Test Center is operated by the WTRC of KIMS. Our mission and purpose is to support wind turbine industry with the highest quality testing technology and services. The facility is equipped with the state-of-the-art static and fatigue test machines for the full-scale rotor blade up to 70m long and 50MNm root bending moment. We provide with the most advanced and reliable testing services for the composite rotor blade based on 30 years R&D experiences and background of KIMS Composite Research Center with specialty of design analysis, manufacturing process, test & evaluation technologies on composite materials and especially on wind turbine blade. Fatigue testing of the rotor blade is primary means to verify design and manufacturing process of a rotor blade, but it is also becoming a great technical challenge due to huge size of the wind turbine blades. The WTRC has been successfully performing full-scale blade fatigue testing with unique technologies and is continuing R&D on advanced fatigue testing technologies and equipment to improve fatigue testing on the larger blades.
